Our Courses for Teachers are designed to help both those teachers who teach English as a main subject and also those who are required to teach it as a small part of their wider teaching duties. All courses are closed group courses for 8 or more students.Generally most time is given to Teaching & Methodology, as for most teachers this is the most important part of the course. However as with all our Professional Courses the courses are tailor-made to suit each individual group.

Learn it and use it
At ELT we believe in the philosophy of “Learn it and use it” This means that the English is learnt in the “General English” Module and then used during the “Teaching Methodology” Module.All the teaching techniques are used in class so that our Trainers can give you “on the spot” feedback.

Teaching Methodology
Young people tend to learn indirectly – by becoming engaged in a task rather than focussing on the language itself. So when teaching younger learners language is best presented through games, songs, group work, etc – a process similar to the way we develop our own native language skills. Our course therefore provides teachers with literally hundreds of ideas for achieving this process of language acquisition.We offer two courses to cater for the slightly different demands of Primary (pupils aged 5-10) and Secondary (11-16) levels.
UK Insight
Even though English has become such an international language – independent of national boundaries – children remain fascinated by people in other countries, and the way they live. UK Insight is therefore designed to help teachers find out more about key areas of British history and culture. One important point about UK Insight is that many of the methods used to present the material are ones, which are directly applicable in the classroom. And it should also help teachers to answer the kinds of questions younger learners always have about another country!General English
