Hotels

Hotels are increasingly recognising the importance of all their staff having good language skills - so that guests receive courteous and efficient service in every single situation, and at every stage of their stay. ELT likes to work closely with the person responsible for training in the hotel, to identify the needs of both the students and the hotel. We then plan a course specifically tailored to these needs.

Communicative activities are always a major part of our hotel courses, as communication is everything in a hotel. Even hotel staff who have only occasional or limited contact with guests (e.g. room attendants and chefs) still need to communicate effectively with their colleagues - often in high-pressure situations. At the other end of the scale are front-of-house staff who have constant, and wide-ranging contact with guests - and who therefore need plentiful supplies of polite, understanding and tactful language! So we expect to teach everything from quite basic skills through to advanced communication strategies - as the following list demonstrates:

Results-orientated training

A typical course is held over 8 to 12 weeks but we also offer effective intensive courses individuals or groups that may need to improve their language skills rapidly. Whatever the format, the participants are guaranteed to make a marked improvement in their spoken English as well as achieving higher levels of comprehension and enhanced vocabulary. These improvements give increased confidence to the trainees, ensure an improvement in their effectiveness at work and so represent an excellent investment for the hotel.
