Our Clients
Over the last 20 years ELT has worked with hundreds of companies, institutions and individual business people. Our clients range from some of the biggest multi-nationals in the world to small, local businesses with only a few employees. We have dealt with an equally wide range of sectors, from pharmaceuticals and construction through to tourism and sport.
Below you will find a few examples, with brief information about the kind of work we have undertaken in each case.
BP
Robert Howley worked for over a year with a senior member of the Human Resources Department, employed by BP as a kind of cultural troubleshooter. The sessions therefore included not only specifics such as the language of meetings, but also the broader issues of cross-cultural communication.
Thistle Hotels
ELT provided a tailor-made course for Thistle, training staff from reception, catering and housekeeping. The course was designed to supplement Thistle’s in-house customer service training programme.
JP Morgan
ELT has provided language training for over a hundred of JP Morgan’s analysts and associates. A large number of areas has been covered from writing (reports, self-appraisals and emails) to speaking (pronunciation and presentation skills).
Planet Retail
ELT is currently providing in-company tuition for Planet Retail, working with five retail analysts, both in a group and on a 1-1 basis. The focus is mainly on writing skills.
GAS
ELT was recently asked to provide an intensive three-week programme for one of G4S’s top staff. About to become a Country Manager, he needed a rapid boost to his English to enable him to function effectively in an international environment.
Pfizer
Over 100 managers from every area in Pfizer have attended intensive 1-1 courses with ELT in London. Robert Howley also carried out a 1-week training programme for Production Supervisors in Freiburg.
Schüco
Schuco has sent seven of its top managers to ELT. Much of the work has been to train these managers in the top-level English they need, for example sourcing foreign suppliers, negotiating with contractors and participating in international teams.
Whirlpool
ELT was commissioned by Whirlpool to provide a language package for one of their Italian managers who was about to head up an international team. The package consisted on an introductory course, followed by a distance-learning programme and then a second course several months later.
Lutron
Robert is currently teaching one of Lutron’s senior Field Service Engineers, and they have together worked on the revision and re-formatting of Service Reports, Customer Help Guidelines and System Commissioning documentation.
Schloss Kapfenburg
ELT ran a highly-intensive one-week programme for the whole administrative team of this renowned music and arts centre. The course content ranged from visitor introduction and induction to the vocabulary of music and special events.
